Beautifully restored rooms with antique furniture. Bed super confortable. Amazing big swimming pool with view on the see. We had lunch at the pool restaurant. Delicious and perfect service. Our glasses were never empty. Same for breakfast, a lot of choice and everything refined.
The only thing we regret is dinner on the front terrace, below the level of such a hotel, especially because of the service. For instance, contrary to the pool restaurant, the waiter just placed the bottle on the table, after we needed to remind him we had ordered it.
As soon as you step into this hotel, you can feel peace and tranquility wash over you. The staff were warm, welcoming and accommodating. The food was yummy. The grounds and sea views are breathtaking. I love the uniqueness of each room, with gorgeous balconies and incredible views. The coastal walk to nearby secluded beach was dreamy. I can't wait to be back soon!
Pros:
Location is phenomenal
Hotel decor, layout and the general property is beautiful to say the least.
Cons:
Shockingly rude and unpleasant staff (some exceptions) but the front desk staff seem to be the worst (again with exception to 1 or 2 people).
I have never felt so uncomfortable or unwelcome at a 5* resort before. Very very cold attitude and not hospitable. I still remember the look a young male employee behind the front desk gave me- just frowning and looked so angry at me for no reason. I even tried to crack a smile at him to break the tension a little, but got nothing but a cold look in return.
Food is decent, nothing amazing although I didn’t get a chance to try the fine dining restaurant, which looked interesting.
Overall, if you are not bothered by generally un hospitable staff, go for it! For me, I’ll probably never return to this property. You don’t have to fake being nice or go above and beyond, just make the guest feel pleasant and welcome. Hospitality 101 I think.

This is a stunningly beautiful hotel which is let down massively by the service.
My husband and I stayed here for a week and were made feel like we were not welcome from the moment we got there. There was a lack of communication from staff, they were not friendly at all. Each morning we came to breakfast, we were barely greeted. Trying to make conversation with staff was pointless, the staff that did understand didn't make an effort. Each day we went to lunch in the hotel, the service was very cold and stand offish.
Very very disapointed with our stay here.
Walking outside the hotel was lovely, we had some lovely walks and had lovely meals in other restaurants but inside hotel was let down by the service, although the food was beautiful.
Unfortunately will not be returning to this hotel again.
Amazing rooms, service, views and location!
Stayed here for a wedding as reception was held here as well. Unbelievable all round experience with lodging, food , spa, paddle ball and service. Expensive compared to other locations in Spain, but well worth it if you want to pamper yourself overlooking the Mediterranean. Beach minutes a way walking
A special hotel and location to spend time. Very precious. Food from restaurants is high quality. Nice beaches around.
Expensive for what it is though.
The main issue was the service in restaurants. The experienced Spanish running things are great, it’s more the summer staff who really had no clue how to do the basics. It must be hard to get good people.
But that’s no excuse. As when you pay this level you expect not to have to walk to a counter to get a menu after sitting for some time. Then again to order your meal. Even more when the food is top price.
The strongest example is the breakfast waiter allowed another guest to sit at our four seat breakfast table while we gathered food from the buffet. She even took our phone to “lost and found” reception. Then when we returned we had to resolve the situation with the guests, while she sat back and watched and didn’t help. Very strange.
Note that this is a wedding venue on weekends. Loud outdoor wedding music plays late into the night until 12-1pm. But it’s a great if you’re here to have or join a wedding!
I was a wedding guest here last week and it was simply magical - what a setting! The staff were also amazing: true professionals who were incredibly attentive and didn’t let a single glass of wine go empty all evening. All the food came out hot and quickly and any requests were seen to incredibly fast despite them having a lot of other mouths to feed! Would definitely recommend you considering La Gavina for your destination wedding.
Simple amazing... We did our wedding in this beautiful hotel and it was just fantastic from the food to the service everything was perfect.
High quality food, professional staff and amazing view.
A big thank you to Andrea and Patrizia our wedding planner
